And here I thought I wouldn't have a reason to set foot inside a movie theatre until Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland comes out next March! I can't wait to see this movie, featured in this month's issue of Bon Appetit. Meryl Streep plays Julia Child and Amy Adams plays Julie Powell, the blogger who decided to make all 500 dishes in Mastering the Art of French Cooking (which Knopf is reissuing in conjunction with the film)in her tiny New York kitchen over the course of a year. No small feat! I have to confess, I've always been way intimidated by French cooking, and have never attempted ANY of Child's repertoire, although I'm thinking that in honor of Child's August 15th birthday and the release of this movie, perhaps I should give it a whirl. Release date is August 7th.

Foodie Blockbuster.....Julia and Julie
